I’m preparing to self publish my novel and I’m unsure how to approach the book front cover design. How important is the first impression when it comes to attracting readers? Should I prioritise bold visuals, typography, or something that reflects the story’s mood? Has anyone hired a designer who really captured the essence of their book, or are DIY options worth trying? Any advice or examples of successful front cover designs would be really helpful.
